Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. The university is renowned for her pioneering the science of the eyewitness memory of children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with many publications and many grants, is also the recipient of numerous international and national prizes. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy as well as research on children as victims within the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
